Asian Hospital fired upon

IMPHAL, Feb 22 : Unidentified individuals, suspected to be members of an underground outfit, fired a single shot at the Asian Hospital located at Kwakeithel today around 3.10 pm.
Speaking to the media, Ningthoukhongjam Bobo, media coordinator of Asian Hospital, confirmed that the incident occurred on the third floor in the female general ward.
He explained that an unknown person fired a single round, which struck the glass pane of the ward.
At the time, ward in-charge Sanatombi Angom, one female nurse, and seven patients, along with their attendants, were present in the ward.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Bobo emphasised that Asian Hospital has been providing quality healthcare to the people of the State for many years.
While there had been some calls from unknown numbers, he clarified that there were no threatening calls from any underground groups.
Questioning the motive behind the attack, he called for a dialogue if the hospital had made any mistakes.
Bobo urged all concerned to clarify the reasons behind the attack.
