14th Kanglei Mega Sports Festival announced

Imphal, Feb 23 : The Kangleipak Students Association (KSA) has announced the 14th Kanglei Mega Sports Festival, which will take place from March 2 to March 7, 2026, under the theme “Sports For A Change”.
As per a release issued by KSA, the festival aims to shift the focus of youth from negative Yaoshang festival practices (like throwing colours, water, and soliciting money on roads) towards sports.
The KSA has been organising this event annually since 2012.
A promotional bike rally for the festival was held on February 22, 2026. The rally was flagged off from the Western Gate of Kangla in Imphal by Dr Mayengbam Veto Singh (Director, Youth Affairs & Sports, Manipur) and Seram Hemjit Meitei (president of KSA).
The rally proceeded to Sendra in Moirang and concluded at the KSA Lamangdong, Bishnupur District Council office.
A key event of the festival will be the 14th Kangleipak Marathon Race, organised in collaboration with the Athletic Association of Manipur (AAM). The marathon is scheduled for March 5.
The KSA has appealed to the people of Manipur to participate and support the event to make it a success.
