IMPHAL, Feb 22 : Shiv Sena, Manipur has called for decisive action to prevent Congress from ever forming a Government again.
Addressing the media at Babupara today, Shiv Sena, Manipur president M Tombi condemned a protest by Congress youth workers at the AI Global Summit in New Delhi, where they stripped off their shirts.
He described the protest as an attempt to malign the country’s image, calling it ‘embarrassing.’
Claiming that the roots of the divisive politics currently affecting Manipur were planted by the Congress party, he added that the controversial Suspension of Operation pact was also signed during their tenure.
He further claimed that many new villages in the hill districts were recognized by facilitating illegal immigration during the Congress regime.
These illegal immigrants are largely involved in poppy cultivation, with the money from the drug trade being used to fuel a violent campaign against the Meeteis, he alleged and questioned why the Government has not initiated a military crackdown on armed illegal immigrants.
He also said that the illegal immigrants must be deported before the census begins, and the border fencing should be carried out on a war footing.
