10th MNCA Elite Trophy PTRC hammer YWC-L by 117 runs, CHAMP CC crush SCCC by 95 runs

IMPHAL, Feb 23 : Star studded PTRC, Patsoi Part IV delivered yet another allround show to demolish YWC, Langthabal (YWC-L) by 117 runs for their 5th win in the ongoing 10th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy at Lairenjam Public Ground today.
PTRC raised a modest total of 226 runs for 4 wickets in the allotted 40 overs half century knocks from Jotin Pheiroijam  and RK Rex before bowlers ran riot and bundled out YWC-L for 109 runs within 33.2 overs to seal the convincing win.
Khangembam Santosh 26 off 44 balls and Salam Richie 28 off 42 balls provided toss winners PTRC a stable start by adding 61 runs off 81 balls for the first wicket before  Ngariyanbam Johnson and skipper RK Rex forged another significant 67 runs off 72 balls until Rex was dismissed by Soubam Robinson on a 38-ball 50.
Jotin Pheiroijam then joined Johnson to stitch another 76 runs off 63 balls until Johnson was undone by Yumnam Athouba for the fifth wicket on 36 as the scoreboard read 210.
Jotin then anchored with an unbeaten 57 off 43 balls (5 fours and 2 sixes) with Chingakham Bidash (13 not out off 6 balls) assisting him on the other end of the crease.
Yumnam Chingkhei Nganba returned with the best bowling figures of 2/20 for YWC-L in this innings as Athouba, Y Vivek and Soubam Robinson finished with a wicket apiece.
Chasing 227 for the victory, YWC lost wickets in regular intervals as Tamarland Pheiroijam (3/15), Ngariyanbam Johnson (3/17), Konthoujam Bishworjit (2/14) and Khangembam Santosh (2/14) combined well to make things hard for them.
Seram Robinson emerged the highest run getter for YWC-L on 31 off 57 balls followed by Ng Bikramjit 17 off 34 balls; Maibam Subash 14 off 18 balls and Y Athouba 13 not out off 22 balls.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, CHAMP CC, Khagempalli sealed their third win in 6 matches by handing SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai a 95-run defeat.
CHAMP CC raised a humongous total of 274 runs for 7 wickets thanks to Samir’s unbeaten ton (105 off 63 balls) and useful contributions from Abdul Kasim (48 off 51 balls) and Leikhram Johny (27 off 57 balls) and successfully defended their total by bowling out SCCC for 179 runs in 30.3 overs.
Hidangmayum Rakeshwor Republic was the pick of the SCCC bowlers returning 3/36 while H Samsung, Basant, M Thomas and Kh Lishan chipped in a wicket apiece in the first innings.
In reply, top order batters of SCCC did their best to hold things intact but CHAMP CC bowling attack led by Md Sultan Karim (4/19 in 6.3 overs) gradually gained ground and dismissed them for 179 runs.
Abdul Kasim (2/46), Md Ahsanul Kabir (2/41), Ch Ranjan (1/33) and Md Babu (1/30) were also among the wickets for CHAMP CC as Bikash Singh (54 off 40 balls), N Bijenkumar  (30 off 27 balls), Kh Ulenyai (28 off 23), Khaidem Lishan (26 off 22) emerged leading run getters for SCCC.
