YCC, NAPSA triumph in Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament

IMPHAL, Feb 23 : YCC, Wangkhei and NAPSA, Kha Imphal secured wins in today’s matches of the XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2026 at Langthabal Public Ground.
In a Group C match of the tournament staged this morning, YCC beat SHADOW, Thangmeiband by 70 runs to end their 2-game losing run.
YCC elected to bat first and posted a modest total of 145 runs for 9 wickets riding on leading knocks from Sanjit Laishram 32 off 20 balls, Loya 22 off 27 balls and Winkan 20 off 19 balls and restricted SHADOW to 75/8 in the second innings riding on Sanjit Sharma (3/14) and Itombi (2/19).
SHADOW’s Bhubanchandra (3/28) and Mobi (2/32) shone with the ball earlier in the first before they faltered in the chase despite Alex’s fighting 37 off 54 balls.
Sanjit who topscored with 32 runs and picked one wicket was adjudged man of the match.
Later in a Group D match, NAPSA kept their quarterfinal hopes alive by thrashing YUCC, Kwakeithel by 9 wickets for the second win in four matches.
YUCC had a disastrous innings after electing to bat first and slumped to 68 all out in 18.1 overs as Johny (3/13), Pintu (3/6), Ratan (2/22) and Mahesh (2/15) of NAPSA wreaked havoc before Somorendro 29 not out off 22 balls, Premananda 20 off 15 and Sudesh 11 not out off 16 fired NAPSA to the winning 73/1 in just 8.3 overs.
Only Tomba 12, Manikumar 10 and Raju 10 were the double digit run getters for YUCC today as Bon Bon picked one wicket.
Pintu of NAPSA who led the bowling attack for NAPSA was named man of the match.
