10th MNCA Elite Trophy Md Basir Rahman scores unbeaten 116 to steer REYS to 108-run victory

IMPHAL, Feb 24 : Md Basir Rahman scored an unbeaten ton to guide REYS, Nagamapal to a comfortable 108-run victory over CRAU, Khamnam Bazar in the 10th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Asked to bat first, REYS, who had won four games in five matches so far, posted a daunting total of 260 runs for 7 wickets in 40 overs as Md Basir anchored with a 117-ball 116 while Md Shamir Khan and Laishram Robertson  made identical 40 runs.
Khumanthem Prakash was the pick of the CRAU bowlers as he returned 4/39 and three others chipped in a wicket apiece.
REYS then defended their total by restricting CRAU to 152/9. Sougaijam Robinson 29, Ph Jodash 27 and K Sanatomba 18 not out led the scoring for CRAU as Ringku Kangujam returned with the best bowling figures of 3/25 for REYS and Kiran Laishram posted 2/13.
Four other REYS bowlers also managed a wicket apiece.
Model Club beat RCA by 46 runs
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha registered a 46-run victory over RCA, Lilong.
Asked to bat first, Model Club amassed 209 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 40 overs before bowling out RCA for 163 runs in 29.1 overs.
M Langlonyamba blazed 81 off 75 balls in the first innings as Jaali Ahmed Chisti made 28 off 81 balls and Yungkham Romario 27 not out off 16 balls followed suit. Md Danish Khan shone in the innings with a five wicket haul (5/39).
In reply, RCA slumped to 163 all out despite late fightback from Zuned 49 off 60 and Iliyas 35 not out off 48 balls as Yungkham Romario (2/29), Wahengbam Kisan (2/22) and Anand Naorem (2/26) produced disciplined bowling performances for Model Club.
