IMPHAL, Feb 24 : The ongoing unrest in Manipur took center stage during a high-level discussion at the National Capital yesterday, where Nationalist leaders raised concerns over demographic shifts and border security.
National convenor and founder of Bharat Raksha Manch Suryakant Kelkar addressed the situation in Manipur during a meeting with Rastrahit Sarvopari Sangathan (Nation first) president Sohar Giri and vice president M Indrajit Singh.
Kelkar, who is also a senior RSS pracharak, expressed deep concern over what he termed external influences and illegal infiltration contributing to instability in the region.
Referring to the prolonged ethnic tensions and security challenges in the State bordering Myanmar, Kelkar emphasised that safeguarding indigenous communities  including the Meitei  population  must be a priority.
He assured that his organisation would stand  firmly to ensure the safety and cultural identity  of the indigenous communities. Arguing that illegal migration has evolved beyond a regional concern and now poses a National security threat, he added that National Register of Citizens (NRC) must be implemented in all the States.
