Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament : YWC-L upstage NCA by 40 runs for third win

IMPHAL, Feb 24 : YWC, Langthabal (YWC-L) thumped NCA, Nambol by 40 runs for the third win in four Group B matches to qualify for the XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2026.
Prakashmani 38, Manaobi 39 and Sashi 29 not out raised a total of 158 runs for 5 wickets as YWC-L won the toss and opted to bat first before Prakashmani 2/26, Samananda 2/10 and Tejkumar 2/21 restricted NCA to 118/8 in reply.
Govin, Manglemba, Ajitkumar and Robert picked a wicket apiece for NCA in the first innings before Robert 48 and Govin 30 led the batting attack in response.
Praskashmani was adjudged man of the match.
With the win, YWC-L went top of the Group B table with three wins and qualified for the quarterfinals.
YPHU-W and UCC, who had also registered two wins in their three matches, will fight it out for the remaining quarterfinal berth for the same group after Yaoshang festival.
Later in the day, REYS, Nagamapal posted 148 runs for 4 wickets after electing to bat first and dismissed CHAMP for 137 runs in 19.3 overs to extend their Group A winning run to three in four  matches.
REYS raised the modest total riding on Maikel, who topscored with 56 off 53 before he retired hurt and Dhawan, who also retired on 46 off 35 before Momo 3/28, Iboyaima 3/36 and Dhawan 2/27 devastated the CHAMP line up.
Thomas and Uttam picked a wicket apiece for CHAMP earlier in the first innings before Gopeshore 33 and Naresh 23 led the batting charge in reply.
Dhawan of REYS who shone with both the bat and ball was declared man of the match.
