National workshop kicks off at MU

IMPHAL, Feb 24 : The Department of Environmental Science, Manipur University inaugurated a five-day National workshop on "Research Methodology, Research Ethics, and Hands-on Training on Data Analysis using SPSS" on February 24.
As per a press release, the inaugural session was held at the seminar hall of the Department of Environmental Science, MU at 10 am, marking the beginning of an intensive academic programme scheduled to run until February 28.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof S Jibonkumar Singh, Dean, School of Human & Environmental Sciences, MU as the chief guest; Prof Kasi Marimuthu, Head of the Department of Environmental Science, Tezpur University, Assam and Prof A Rajmani Singha, Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), MU as the guests of honour and Dr Konthoujam Khelchandra Singh, convener of the National workshop and Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Science, MU as the functional president.
After the inaugural session, Professor Kasi Marimuthu spoke on "Application of Statistics in Research", "MS Excel Data Analysis & Statistics; Data entry and data cleaning; Editing and cleaning survey data; Descriptive statistics in Excel; Graphs (Bar, Pie, Line, Histogram)" and "Introduction to IBM SPSS" during the 2nd, 3rd and 4th sessions.
