Hoax bomb

IMPHAL, Feb 25: A hoax bomb with a warning note created a panicky situation at Manipur University, Imphal West under Singjamei police station at around 10.30 pm on February 24. Sources said that unidentified persons suspected to be militants placed an object which looked like a bomb at the foot of the university’s traffic island with a warning note, “Thabak loubada senja thumja touba oja sing gi mathakta action lougani, KCP” (Action will be taken against teachers involved in bribery in recruitment, KCP). On getting information of the object which looked like a bomb, a team from Singjamei police station rushed to the spot. However, on checking the object, it turned out to be a hoax bomb without any kind of explosive items. The police team then removed the object from the spot, said the sources.
