IMPHAL, Feb 25 : CYCLONE, Thangmeiband crushed YWC, Langthabal (YWC-L) by 199 runs for the fifth win in the 10th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy as CHAMP CC, Khagempalli sealed a slender 11-run victory over ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound to stretch their winning run to four games.
Asked to bat first at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, CHAMP CC posted a modest total of 230 runs for all wickets down riding on leading knocks from Sougrakpam Shangker 95 off 101 balls, Leikram Johny 47 off 50 balls and Yumnam Karnajit 36 off 38 balls before Md Babu (3/31), Md Ahsanul Kabir (2/38) and Abdul Kasim (2/38) derailed the ESU chase and restricted them at 219/9.
Lourembam Dipu enjoyed a fifer (5/40) and Tenyson (3/36) picked three wickets for ESU in the first innings but their efforts went abegging as the batting department failed to deliver in the chase. Leishangthem Bishorjit 41 off 30 balls, Sagolshem Ronal 40 off 69 balls, and Tenyson 28 off 33 were the leading run getters for ESU.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, CYCLONE raised a mammoth total of 302 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and bowled out YWC-L for 103 runs in 24.5 overs.
Kisham Laishram shone with a century knock, 100 off 74 balls including 6 fours and 4 sixes, for toss winners CYCLONE and he was followed by Md Rahis Khan 45 not out off 17 balls and Ningthoujam Thoiba 35 off 42 balls.
The innings saw Soubam Robinson (3/24) and Heisnam Manikanta (2/41) sharing five crucial wickets before they slumped to 103 all out in the chase as Loktongbam Santosh (3/7), Reolin Oinam (2/10), Md Aqeel (2/37) and Nongthombam Denin (2/25) shared 9 crucial wickets for CYCLONE.
In the nightmarish chase, Pukhrambam Prasantamani topscored with 25 off 29 as Heisnam Manikanta added 19 off 20 balls.
Kishan also picked a wicket in this innings and was eventually named man of the match.
