IMPHAL, Feb 26 : The Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) and the National Students Union of India (NSUI) have called for the unconditional release of India Youth Congress (IYC) leaders, including president Uday Bhanu Chib, who were arrested by Delhi police.
Addressing the media at BT Road today, former MPYCC president Ningthoujam Popilal stated that Uday Bhanu was detained for peacefully protesting at the Global AI Summit in New Delhi.
He alleged that the AI Summit, hosted by the Government of India, was mired in controversy.
Popilal claimed that a robot dog, presented at the summit as a creation of Galgotia University, was actually manufactured in China.
Accusing the Government of suppressing dissent, he urged the Government to release the IYC leaders at the earliest.
MPYCC vice president Abinash Naorem also attended the press briefing among others.
