CM holds back to back meetings with BJP, NDA MLAs No queries entertained from media

IMPHAL, Feb 26: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand held a closed-door meeting with BJP MLAs  at Thambal Shanglen (office of BJP Manipur Pradesh), Keishampat Nityaipat   Chuthek this afternoon, followed by another meeting with NDA MLAs at the CM Secretariat.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda was also present at the meeting held  at the Thambal Shanglen which started at around 4.30 pm and went on till 5.20 pm.
However, nine BJP MLAs including six MLAs belonging to the Kuki and Zo communities were absent.
Notably, BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte, elected from Thanlon AC, died recently.
Letpao Haokip (Teng-noupal AC), Nemcha Kip- gen (Kangpokpi AC), Ngur-sanglur Sanate (Tipaimukh AC), Letzamang Haokip (Henglep AC), LM Khaute (Churachandpur AC) and Paolienlal Haokip (Saikot AC) did not attend the meeting convened by the Chief Minister.
Moreover, ex-Chief Minister N Biren (Heingang AC) and Achab Uddin (Jiribam AC) too stayed away from the meeting.
Altogether 27 BJP MLAs including Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand took part in the meeting.
As they came out after the meeting, neither the Chief Minister nor any of the MLAs entertained queries raised by media persons.
As such, what transpired at the closed-door meeting could not be ascertained.
Nonetheless, according to social media posts shared by A Sharda and some MLAs who took part in the meeting, the meeting deliberated on coordination among the BJP MLAs in order to consolidate the new Govern- ment and strengthen BJP in the State.
The meeting also discussed the current situation of Manipur, expediting development works and proper implementation of public welfare programmes, Sharda wrote in a social media post.
Another meeting was held at 7 pm at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat with the Chief Minister. The meeting was attended by MLAs belonging to the constituent parties of NDA viz; BJP, NPF, NPP, JD(U) and Independents.
Sources said that the meeting deliberated on restoration of peace and accelerating development, resettlement and rehabilitation of IDPs and coor- dination among NDA MLAs in order to ensure effective and speedy implementation of development projects and welfare programmes.
The Chief Minister also presented a brief account of his recent visit to New Delhi and his meetings with many Central leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan.        
Sources said that some of the Kuki and Zo MLAs attended the meeting through video conferencing.
