Veteran T-20 Cricket CHAMP, YUCC end campaign on winning notes

IMPHAL, Feb 27 : CHAMP, Kwakeithel and YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel ended their league campaign in the XIII T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2026 being hosted by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground.
In their final Group D match, YUCC beat BSC-B, Brahmapur Laljilakpa Leikai by 6 wickets for their second win in five matches.
Opting to bat first, BSC-B slumped to 114 all out in 19.4 overs despite brave efforts from Eigya 22, Banikanta 36 and Sushil 23 as Nishi (3/23), Manikumar (3/20) and Bon Bon (2/27) shared 7 crucial wickets for YUCC.
In reply, Risk 41 off 29 provided YUCC an early flourish before Sibananda anchored with an unbeaten 27 off 20 balls to take the team to winning 116 in 16.3 overs with 6 wickets to spare.
Vedeshor (2/26) and Johnson (1/26) shared three wickets for BSC-B in the second innings.
Nishi of YUCC was declared man of the match.
Later in the day, CHAMP culminated their Group A campaign with a 4 wicket win over LCCC, Lilong Chajing. It was the second win for CHAMP in five matches.
CHAMP bundled out toss winners LCCC for 72 runs in 17.4 overs riding on Naresh (3/9), Bindhyashwor (2/21) and John (2/1) before easing to the winning 77 for 6 wickets in 15 overs thanks to Naresh’s unbeaten 29.
Pratap 16 and Ashok 14 led the scoring for 10-man LCCC today before Kison (3/10) returned with the best bowling figures of 3/10.
Naresh of CHAMP was eventually named man of the match.
