74th birth anniversary of AK Seram observed in Bangladesh

IMPHAL, Feb 27: The Manipuri Library & Research Centre, Bhanubil, Bangladesh, observed the 74th birth anniversary of noted Manipuri writer of Bangladesh, AK Seram, on Friday at Luxmi Narayan Mandap, Bhanubil, Bangladesh.
The commemorative function was marked by the presentation of the "Leichombam Rajendro Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award, 2026" to renowed Manipuri writer Yaiskul Khwairakpam.
As part of the observance, a song book titled "Thammoigi Manin" authored by Ayekpam Anju, founder of the Manipuri Library & Research Centre, Bhanubil, was released. Another book titled "Bangladeshki Leimaida", written by Umabati Athokpam, was also unveiled during the programme.
The event was attended by BAMSAS, Bisgaon branch, president Khoirom Kamini;  Manipuri Library & Research Centre, advisor L Jayantakumar Singh; PAWF Manipur secretary Rakesh Naorem; BAMSAS Kamalganj branch, president Laiphrakpam Ibungohal Shyamal; Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad, Central Committee, vice-president L Prashanta Kumar; and Chingtham Sangeeta, as presidium members.
Speakers at the event, highlighted his enduring legacy and the importance of preserving and promoting Manipuri literary traditions beyond borders.
