Maj Dr Jyotin Singh Memorial Football TYDA, Utlou FC through to quarterfinals

IMPHAL, Feb 27 : TYDA, Toubul and Utlou FC, Utlou are into the quarterfinals of the ongoing Maj Dr Jyotin Singh Ashok Chakra (P) Memorial Football Tournament 2026 being underway at DSA Bishnupur playground.
In the 7th pre-quarterfinal match of the tournament, Utlou FC saw off MPSC by 5-4 goals on penalties after they were locked at 1-1 till the end of the regulation time.
Utlou FC led the first half 1-0 thanks to H Jotin’s 14th minute strike but MPSC fought their way back into the game with Jeekop scoring the equaliser in the 56th minute.
And as the two sides remained locked at 1-1 till the end of the regulation, the match was decided by penalty shoot-out where Hillim, Jackson, Beyon, Amarjit and Roshan found the target to seal the 5-4 win.
For MPSC, only David, Roshan, Monis and Khamboy found the goal for MPSC in the shoot-out.
Later in the day, TYDA and YSWA played out a goalless draw in the regulation time before N Nanao, Alex, Th Bungcha, Goutam and M Abinash found the target for TYDA in the shoot-out to earn the 5-4 win. For YSWA, A Nirjit, O Abinash, P Harish and I Bidyachandra were on target in the shoot-out.
