18th MSL : USA stun NEROCA FC 3-0 to boost semi-final hopes

IMPHAL, Feb 27 : USA, Khurai pulled off a 3-0 win over NEROCA FC, Sangakpham in the second semi-final playoff match of the 18th Manipur State League and significantly boosted their last-four round chances this afternoon at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
NEROCA FC, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Social Development Club (SDC), Samurou in the first semi-final playoff, trailed 0-1 behind USA as Thoudam Pravash who came off the bench after 24 minutes scored in the 33rd minute.
USA piled further pressure on NEROCA FC as Ashangbam Bhaskar doubled the advantage in the 55th minute before Thoudam Pravash returned to action and completed the 3-0 rout in the 80th minute. With the loss, NEROCA FC literally ended their campaign in the 24-team tournament.
USA will play SDC in the third semi-final playoff that will decide the fourth team who will join ESU, MPSC and NMFA in the semi-finals on March 1.
