IMPHAL, Feb 28 : The Aam Aadmi Party's Manipur unit has expressed joy following the discharge of party leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in a case by the Rouse Avenue Court on February 27, 2026.
In a release, the AAP Manipur strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), labelling the arrests as a major “criminal conspiracy” and an abuse of power.
The party stated that the Court found the allegations against the leaders to be baseless and without foundation.
AAP Manipur asserted that the power was misused to keep the leaders in jail for years despite the cases being unworthy of trial.
The party alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) were used to conduct numerous raids and arrests, aiming to tarnish the leaders’ reputations in headlines and break their spirit before the election.
AAP Manipur raised concerns about the state of democracy if unfair political arrests and the misuse of agencies become normalized by the ruling party.
The party concluded that the public will not remain silent when political opponents are suppressed using power.
