IMPHAL, Feb 28 : The Poiroupat Loukol Farmer’s Development Co-operative Society Limited has distributed bags of urea to farmers at a subsidized rate today.
The initiative is aimed at supporting those cultivating ‘Anganphou’ (early paddy) in the Poiroupat Loukol area.
This marks the fourth time the society has distributed fertilizer to its members. The urea provided today specifically benefited farmers from Huikap Awang Leikai and Andro.
The society’s secretary, Khulem Tomchou, stated that further distributions for other farmers are planned.
Khulem Tomchou expressed gratitude on behalf of the society to the Director and officials of the Agriculture Department for their timely assistance with irrigation water and other necessities, which has significantly encouraged the farmers’ efforts.
The society continues to work diligently to ensure timely access to essential farming inputs like water and fertilizer.
The beneficiary farmers, in turn, expressed their thanks to the society and particularly to the secretary, Khulem Tomchou, for their consistent support.
