Dance festival

Tengnoupal, Feb 28: A two-day regional Festival of Naga dance was held from February 24 to 26 in Tengnoupal district.
The festival was organised by the Tribal Area Environment and Culture Development Organisation (TAECDO) and sponsored by the North Eastern Council, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India, Shillong.
The event aimed to showcase the diverse and beautiful Naga dances of the North East, promote the rich cultural ethos associated with these traditional art forms among participants and audiences, and bridge knowledge gaps to strengthen the region's identity as a hub of folk dance traditions.
During the two-day event, 10 dance troupes from different Naga tribes - Aimol, Tarao, Lamkang, Maring, Chothe, Anal, Monsang, Lamkang, Moyon and Tangkhul enthralled the audience with their colourful and energetic folk dances.
