EC announces SSR for Tadubi AC

IMPHAL, Feb 7 : The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral roll for the 49-Tadubi (ST) Assembly Constituency.
In accordance with ECI directives, the Chief Electoral Office (CEO) of Manipur released the schedule today under Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
According to a press release by the Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Manipur, Lokeshor Brahmacharimayum, the draft electoral roll will be published on February 9, 2026.
The period for filing claims and objections will run from February 9 to February 25, 2026.
Claims and objections will be disposed of by March 6, 2026, and the final electoral roll will be published on March 10, 2026, it said. Notably, the seat for 49-Tadubi Assembly Constituency has been vacant since the death of National People’s Party representative N Kayisii on January 18, 2025. The SSR process is a critical step towards holding the by-election.
