State Masters Badminton Championships K Ravi Shankar wins 35+ men’s singles title

IMPHAL, Feb 28 : K Ravi Shankar clinched the title of the 35+ men’s singles competition as the 68th State Masters Veteran Badminton Championships came to a close today at MSBA indoor stadium, DM University Campus.
In the final, K Ravi Shankar of IWDBA defeated Rajkumar Henry of BDBA 21-12, 21-11 to rightfully seal the 35+ men’s singles title.
Kshetrimayum Devjit of IWDBA meanwhile sealed the 40+ men’s singles title defeating Leishangthem Dinesh of KDBA 21-18, 21-13 as Lukram Ramesh of IWDBA beat Pukhrambam Krishnakumar of KDBA 21-16, 21-12 for the 45+ singles title.
W Amusana of IEDBA on the other hand lifted the 50+ men’s singles trophy by getting better of IWDBA’s Johny Mahesh Wahengbam 21-18, 21-16 in the final.
Heny Luny of SDBA meanwhile defeated UDBA’s Ha Vareishang 21-16, 13-21, 21-16 to earn the 55+ men’s singles crown.
The pair of Hawaibam Kishan and Sanjenbam Ningthoujao bagged the 35+ men’s double title as they edged IWDBA/IEDBA pair of K Ravi Shankar and Konthoujam Thomas 19-21, 21 while Ksh Devjit and Laishram Nandakumar got the better of IWDBA pair of Bonny Akoijam and S Shyamananda 21-13, 21-23, 21-11 for the 40+ men’s doubles title.
IWDBA pair of Heikrujam Jugin Singh and Sapam Bimol Singh meanwhile got the better of  another IWDBA pair of Khwairakpam James Singh and Khwairakpam Rajesh Singh 15-21, 23-21, 24-22 to seal the 50+ men’s doubles title as
SDBA/IWDBA pair of Heny Luny and Maisnam Somen Singh  got the better of SDBA pair of Mukesh Taterway and PP Ronald 21-8, 22-24, 21-9 to claim the 55+ men’s doubles title.
The 60+ men’s doubles title meanwhile went to the IWDBA/IEDBA pair of Toijam Nimai Singh and W Amusana Meitei  who prevailed 21-12, 21-12 over N Biren Singh and Yumkhaibam Samarendra Singh.
