IMPHAL, Mar 1 : In another allegation of financial fraud, a group of former staff members of the Humanity Bright (HB) group has claimed that their former chairman Leichombam Herojit has gone into hiding after fraudulently collecting a large sum of money.
The former HB group staff held a press conference today at the residence of their former chairman at Mayang Langjing, Imphal West.
Addressing the media, one P Ranjan stated that Herojit had disappeared after collecting Rs 1.39 crore from three marups (a local community-based rotating saving scheme) organised by the HB group.
He appealed to all concerned to assist in locating Herojit.
Herojit had gone into hiding with his wife and children, along with all his valuables, he claimed.
According to him, Herojit's mother and siblings have clarified that they have no knowledge of his whereabouts.
Stating that the people who had invested in the marups had started pressuring them to return their money, he once again appealed to all to assist them in locating Herojit.
