Nalini named for Sahitya Akademi

IMPHAL, Mar 16: Dr Haobam Nalini has been honoured with the Sahitya Akademi Award for her short story “Kanglamdriba Eephut”.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sahitya Akademi Awards 2025 have been conferred on eight books of poetry, four novels, two essays, one literary criticism, one autobiography, two memoirs and six books of short stories including Dr Haobam Nalini’s “Kanglamdriba Eephut”.
The award in the form of a casket containing an engraved copper-plaque, a shawl and an amount of Rs one lakh will be presented to the awardees at a presentation ceremony to be held on March 31, 2026 in New Delhi, it said.
Dr Haobam Nalini Devi w/o Dr Khaidem Jaichandra, is a resident of Thongju Part II.
Dr Nalini has retired from her profession after teaching at Kha Manipur College, Thoubal College and DM College of Teachers’ Education.
She is a life member of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Cultural Forum, Writers’ Forum, Leikol, Manipuri Sanskrit Parishad and Naharol Sahitya Samiti.
She has already published 10 books of different genres including “Kanglamdriba Eephut”.
Dr Haobam Nalini is also a recipient of the Dr Jamini Devi Award 2022 given by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad.
