Forest produce seized

IMPHAL, Mar 16: Thoubal Range Office intercepted and seized a vehicle transporting forest produce, including firewood and sawn timber without valid transit pass at Khongjom area today.
The vehicle and the forest produce were seized during a routine check conducted under the supervision of DFO Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee.
Further legal action has been initiated under relevant rules, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the forest produce and identify individuals involved in the unauthorized transportation, said the Thoubal Range Office.
