Second edition of book on Bob Khathing released

IMPHAL, Mar 18 : Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla released a second edition of the coffee table book ‘The Life of the Unsung Hero – Maj Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing’ during a ceremony held at Valley View, Mantripukhri, here, today.
Prior to the release, the Governor laid a wreath at the memorial of Major Bob Khathing at the venue.
The ceremony was attended by John SR Khathing, IRS (retired); Major General Gaurav Sharma, IGAR (S); Major General Subhankar Basu, GOC, 57th Mountain Division; along with other senior officers and family members of Major Bob Khathing.
As part of the event, the Major Ralengnao Bob Khathing Meritorious Award was distributed to meritorious students who have excelled in the Class X and XII examinations.
Speaking at the function, the Governor stated that the second edition of the coffee table book on Major Ralengnao Bob Khathing goes beyond recounting the life of an extraordinary son of the State, serving as a reflection of the enduring values of courage, integrity and selfless service that underpin Nation-building.
He highlighted Major Bob Khathing’s distinguished journey as a soldier, administrator and diplomat.
The Governor further emphasised that Major Bob Khathing’s life carries a profound message for the younger generation, urging them to draw inspiration from his discipline, humility and commitment to the greater good.
He underscored that the Nation’s future depends on youth dedicated to unity, constructive dialogue and peace, noting that lasting progress is built on collective effort and mutual understanding.
He expressed hope that the book will inspire people to contribute to a peaceful, united and prosperous society.
