10th MNCA Elite Trophy Ph Jotin hits 90 not out, picks 3 to steer PTRC to seventh win

IMPHAL, Mar 1 : Pheiroijam Jotin produced an allround show to help PTRC, Patsoi Part IV defeat REYS, Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai by 57 runs in the 10th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy 2025-26 at Moijing Public Ground.
Jotin blazed an unbeaten 90 off 43 balls (7 fours and 8 sixes) to guide PTRC to 221/8 after they were asked to bat first before claiming three wickets to set up REYS collapse at 164 within 33 overs.
Salam Richie (31 off 67 balls) and Ngariyanbam Johnson (28 off 67 balls) also made valuable contributions for PTRC in the first innings that saw Naorem Victor Meitei (3/54) and Ringku Kangujam (3/52) sharing 6 wickets for REYS.
In reply, REYS made a solid start with Md Shamir Khan scoring a 68-ball 51 to gather 98 runs with Md Basir Rahman (38 off 50 balls; 4 fours) but Khangembam Santosh removed both the opener and one down batter to inflict early damage and returned with the best bowling figures of 3/10 in 8 overs.
Khundrakpam Punshiba joined the fray by removing Khulakpam Shahadat Ali to further reduce REYS to 116/5 before Tamarland Pheiroijam (2/40) broke the backbone of the REYS line up and Jotin (3/32) swept the final three wickets to seal the comprehensive win.
Jotin was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound defeated Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha by 6 wickets.
Model Club were bundled out for 147 runs by ESU riding on a concerted bowling attack led by Lourembam Dipu (3/28), Leishangthem Bishworjit (2/26) and Tenyson (2/25) before cruising to the winning 151/4 within 34.1 overs with the help of Tenyson’s 54 off 82 balls, Sanatomba 26 off 31 balls and M Bimananda’s 45 off 55 balls.
For Model Club, Biyon Naorem 28 and Anand Naorem 20 were the top scorers before Suson Yanglem (1/21) and Waikhom Priyokumar (1/30) picked a wicket apiece.
