6 secure three wins on trot in 1st RK Sanajaoba Memorial U-20 Chess Tournament

IMPHAL, Mar 20 : The second day of the 1st RK Sanajaoba Memorial U-20 Chess Tournament 2026 organised by the Kanglei Chess Academy saw completion of the third round.
As many as 6 players including top rated Dayanand Thoudam secured their third win on the trot on the second day of the tournament being organised under the aegis of the Manipur State Chess Association. Dayanand Thoudam defeated Sinthoiba Ningthemcha for the third win as Punsiba Maisnam beat Th Dupachandra, M Willamba beat O Khelemba, Lemba Sougaijam beat Prichard Elangbam, L Stanley Meethoiba beat Lanchenba Ngairangbam and Dinesh Chabungbam beat Yaiphaba Yumnam also stretched their winning runs to three games.
The day also saw Jonex Nandeibam and Mangal Elangbam sharing a half point each in the third round to amass 2.5 points each in the tournament. Sinthoiba Ningthemcha, Thounaojam Dupachandra, Oinam Khelemba, Prichard Elangbam and Lanchenba Ngairangbam had earlier registered second round victories.
The players who managed their second wins in the third round meanwhile include Lanheiba Loitongbam, Ningthoujam Shivraj, Anish Senjam, RK Nadiya, Thounaojam Favian, RK Paikhomba, Roosevelt Thiyam, Magnus Chingsubam, Manithoi Ningthemcha Mangang, Nelson Potshangbam, Veeral Mongjam and Wangthoi Ningthemcha.
Having secured one win in two rounds, Loitongbam Mayol and Sirius Septen Thiyam also played out a draw in the third round to secure 1.5 points apiece as Lairenmayum Kanishkar amassed 1.5 points by playing out a draw with Nongmeikapam Wanglenganba who are yet to register a win in three rounds. Aribam Punaraj, Lamyanba Ayekpam, Lingjelleima Thokchom, Lamnganbi Ayekpam, Kabir Parth and Thoungamba Ningthemcha also registered their first win in three rounds today.
