IMPHAL, Mar 20 : The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has announced a mass democratic procession on March 21 at Litan as the 24-hour ultimatum served to the State Government on March 18 has expired without any clear, credible or reassuring response regarding the safety and free movement of the public along NH-202.

In a March 19 press release, TKS expressed concern and disappointment over the Government's lack of response, saying the "continued silence" has compelled them to question how serious and committed the Government truly is in addressing the concerns and safeguarding the lives of its citizens. TKS called it both unacceptable and deeply shameful that they have been made to feel unsafe and uncertain in their own land, that they cannot walk freely on the very soil that belongs to them.
Such a situation is not only a failure of governance but a direct assault on the dignity and rights of the people, it asserted.
TKS has urged all CSOs, community leaders and the public to stand in solidarity and join the mass protest.
