4th Samaram Trophy SDYC beat Jodhi FC in 7-goal thriller as Waikhong FC, Malem FC share spoils

IMPHAL, Mar 23 : Waikhong FC and Malem FC, Irom Meijrao played out a goalless draw as SDYC, Hayelabuk defeated Jodhi FC, Naoremthong in 7-goal thriller in the Group A matches of the ongoing 4th Samaram Trophy 2026.
In the first Group A match of the 18-team league cum knock-out tournament, Waikhong FC and Malem FC traded close runs but failed to convert their chances. Eventually they ended up sharing a point apiece.
Later in the second Group A match, SYDC enjoyed a 3-1 first half lead before seeing off Jodhi FC 4-3 courtesy of Janab’s double.
Janab found the lead early in the 3rd minute but Jodhi FC fought back and drew level in the 11th minute through Henba’s strike.
SDYC however retained the lead in the 18th minute through Aka before Saud further swelled the lead thanks one minute into the added time of the opening half.
Janab scored in the 38th minute further extended the lead to 4-1 but Prasanta scored within a minute to make it 2-4 for Jodhi FC before Sanjit scored in the 40th minute to further reduce the deficit.
Jodhi FC however failed to draw level as time slipped fast.
