Held with drugs

IMPHAL, Mar 23 : A combined team of Quick Action Team (QAT) of Mao police station, A/109 Bn CRPF and B Coy 16 AR arrested a drug peddler and seized 15 soap cases containing brown sugar weighing 174 grams early this morning.
The drug peddler arrested has been identified as Firoz (35) of Yairipok Tulihal Mayai Leikai, Imphal East.
He was smuggling the drug in an A-Star Maruti Suzuki car.
The car was travelling from Senapati side toward Nagaland when it was intercepted by the combined team of security forces at the Mao checkpoint for random checking and frisking at around 2.30 am.
On checking the vehicle, the security forces found 15 soap cases containing brown sugar weighing 174 grams.
Apart from the brown sugar, the security forces also seized a wallet containing Rs 5,000 in cash, an Aadhar card, ATM card, and driving licence from the possession of the arrested individual.
The arrested drug peddler along with the seized items have been handed over to Mao police station for further investigation and necessary legal action.
