Imp-Ukl taxis to take alternative route

IMPHAL, Mar 23 : In view of escalating tension, the Imphal-Ukhrul Road Zonal Taxi Association has resolved to provide taxi service via an alternative route till the situation in Litan returns to normalcy.
According to a statement, the resolution was passed during an emergency sitting organised on March 22 between the management committee of the Association and Winger owners to discuss the grievances of passengers/public passing through Imphal via Litan.
The ticket for Ukhrul-Imphal via the alternative route will be available at the booking counter opposite Ava Market, Phungreitang from 5.30 am to 1.30 pm while the ticket for Imphal-Ukhrul will be available at the booking counter located at ISBT, Khuman Lampak, Imphal, said the release.
The taxi operators and owners also fixed the fare at Rs 700 per head. Earlier on the normal route the fare was Rs 300 per head. The new fare structure has come into effect into effect from today.
