24th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Thangmeiband FC drub EMVFC 5-0, FLAM edge MLVFA 3-2

IMPHAL, Mar 24 : Thangmeiband FC rode on Khupneingam Kom’s treble to rout EMVFC, Lamlai as FLAM, Yaiskul edged past MLVFA, Mayai Lambi by 3-2 goals in today’s matches of the ongoing 24th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament 2025.
In the Group D opener, S Hemantakumar opened the scoring for Thangmeiband FC in the 14th minute before Khupneingam Kom scored a hattrick (16’, 22’, 25’) to make it 4-0 before half time. Saipu Kom then rounded off the scoring in the 58th minute as EMVFC failed to come up with a response.
Later in the Group A opening match, FLAM sealed all three points against MLVFA thanks to a double from K Poubichung (9’, 37’) and one contributed by S James (33’).
For MLVFA, Deepak Laiphrakpam (14’) and Ng Ratankumar (45’) were on target.
UKFC, Uripok will play VFC, Kakwa in the second Group A match tomorrow from 3 pm.
