FOCS urges

IMPHAL, Mar 24 : The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur, has urged the Government to address the problems of the internally displaced people (IDPs) while praising Chief Minister Y Khemchand for engaging in talks with leaders of the Kuki-Zo Council in Guwahati on March 21 to restore normalcy in Manipur.
In a press statement, FOCS said that the crucial meeting reflects a positive step towards reconciliation and mutual understanding.
This initiative demonstrates a strong commitment to restoring peace, fostering trust between communities and paving the way for inclusive dialogue, the Federation, expressing hope that such efforts will accelerate the return of normalcy and strengthen the bonds of unity  among all sections of society.
Taking forward the sport of this first meeting, the Federation expressed hope that the next round of talks  will be convened soon in Imphal as a gesture of goodwill and collective commitment to peace. FOCS, meanwhile, said that the Government should make arrangements to resettle the IDPs to their native places, ensuring their safety, dignity and well-being. Saying that the idea of Manipur, rooted in its age-old emotional and territorial integrity, shared heritage and oneness, must be preserved, respected and protected, FOCS maintained that rebuilding trust and promoting harmony among communities remains imperative at this juncture.
