PowerGrid gives minibus to MU

Imphal, Mar 25: Reaffirming its commitment to community development and educational support, PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has handed over a minibus to Manipur University under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
POWERGRID is a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Power.
The mini bus was formally handed over during a ceremony held at the Committee Room of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat, in the presence of senior officials from POWERGRID and Manipur University, said a press release.
The initiative aims to enhance transportation facilities for students and staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Waribam Amarjeet, Senior Deputy General Manager (i/c) of POWERGRID, noted that the addition of the minibus is expected to ease commuting challenges faced by students, particularly those residing in distant areas, and improve overall campus mobility.
Thanking POWERGRID for the generous contribution, Vice-Chancellor Professor N Lokendra Singh expressed interest in fostering collaborative efforts with POWERGRID, particularly in the areas of student training and internship programmes.
Other dignitaries present at the ceremony include Professor M Premjit Singh, Registrar, MU; Professor Ch Ibohal Meitei, Director, Research & Development Cell, MU along with Deans and senior officials of the University and POWERGRID.
