IMPHAL, Mar 28: The DESAM has slammed the State Government’s silence on the issue of supplying sub-standard paper for textbooks and answer sheets.
The student body said that it had already exposed the issue of supplying sub-standard paper for printing textbooks of classes I to X prescribed by BOSEM for the academic session 2026.
A press release issued by DESAM said that the issue is a big scam and it suspended its agitation over the issue in view of the Class X exam conducted by BOSEM.
Even though a memorandum was submitted to the Governor highlighting the same issue, the Government has not yet bothered to constitute any enquiry committee.  If the Government remains indifferent to the issue, DESAM will be constrained to resume its agitation until justice is done, it said.
Had the BOSEM Chairman and the Secretary been from the teacher fraternity who understand students’ sentiment, they would have done everything to resolve the issue in less than five days, it added.
