KANGPOKPI, Mar 28: Kuki Students' Organisation Sadar Hills (KSO Sadar Hills) on Saturday announced the withdrawal of its 48-hour ultimatum to district departmental officers following what it described as a “productive and result-oriented” meeting with the administration, while warning of strict action against any dereliction of duty.
The student body had served a 48-hour ultimatum to irregular and negligent officials of the Executive Engineer (EE), PHED, Kangpokpi Division, and the Deputy Director, TA/Hills, Kangpokpi.
According to KSO Sadar Hills, its leadership convened a meeting with departmental officials at its administrative office, where officers gave a “solemn assurance” to ensure efficient functioning of Government offices and speedy redressal of public grievances.
Terming the development as “positive,” Kuki Students' Organisation Sadar Hills said it has decided to rescind the earlier ultimatum, but reiterated its demands for strict adherence to punctuality and regularity in office attendance, along with proactive engagement in addressing public concerns.
The organisation, however, made it clear that the rollback of the ultimatum should not be seen as a relaxation of its stance, asserting that it will continue to closely monitor the performance of officials.
