UKHRUL, Mar 28 : The Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong District, has issued a public notice directing the immediate removal and dismantling of unauthorized structures along the proposed Right of Way (RoW) of National Highway-102A (Shangshak-Tengnoupal Road), Package I, within 15 days. The notice was issued on March 27, 2026.
The notice, signed by Deputy Commissioner LN Kashung, highlights that, despite prior notifications under Section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956, and resolutions adopted at a meeting on May 7, 2025, illegal structures have continued to come up.
The meeting between the Deputy Commissioner and Village Authority members had agreed to voluntary removal of such structures by May 30, 2025; however, the illegal structures still stand within the proposed RoW of the Package-1 stretch, possibly obstructing the ongoing/proposed widening works on National Highway-102A.
Further, the Executive Engineer (Zone NE), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, had also raised concerns about the hindrance caused by these unauthorized constructions along the Package-I stretch of the highway, the order stated.
In light of these developments, the Deputy Commissioner has directed all individuals responsible for erecting illegal structures to remove them within 15 days. Failure to comply will result in eviction and demolition of the structures without further notice, it said. Ukhrul Times
