6th plenary session of WMC held

JIRIBAM, Mar 29 : The World Meetei Council (WMC) held its 6th plenary session today at Lamargram Chingsubam Hall in Cachar, Assam.
The session, themed "Meetei Kanminasi, Khut Tingthokpiu"-which roughly translates to "Lend your hand to save Meetei" was graced by several distinguished guests, including WMC chairman, retired Colonel Tensubam Gokul Chandra; Editors Guild Manipur (EGM) president Khogendra Khomdram; Advocate Ahanthem Henry (Supreme Court); EGM secretary Yumnam Rupachandra; former Home Minister Ashangbam Biren; retired Additional Secretary of Assam Government Arambam Nandababu Singha; United Manipuri Association, Assam president Baladeb Singha; Manipuri Peoples' Front, Assam president Yengkhom Upendra; WMC Federal Unit Bangladesh executive members Naorem Sudhir, Thonngam Polash Meitei; and WMC Federal Unit Myanmar executive members Ph Chandra Kumar Sharmaamasung and Shreemayum Ram Sharma, among others.
During the observance, the gathering paid floral tributes to the photo of the late Potshangbam Sonamani Singh, former advisor of WMC.
The speakers at the event emphasized the need for collective efforts to strengthen and uplift the Meetei community.
