More and more youth turn to IICT

IMPHAL, Mar 2: With AI (artificial intelligence) advancing rapidly and many of the modern technologies now driven by AI, more and more youth are turning their attention to the Indian  Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT), which is the only one of its kind in the whole country.
IICT, of which the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Maharashtra Government, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) are the key stakeholders, was established on July 18, 2025 inside the campus of National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) at Peddar Road, Mumbai.
IICT which focuses on creating a robust ABGC-XR ecosystem (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality) has been taking a key role in enhancing the technological knowledge and creative skill of youth.
The institute which has its campus on the fourth floor of NFDC building has facilities for teaching different courses.
Plans are afoot to create a permanent campus of IICT covering 10 acres at Goregaon Filmcity within the next two years.
The existing campus at NFDC complex has facilities for Animation, VFX, gaming Labs, Edit, Sound Studios, Virtual Production Studio and Modern Theatre.
Some of the major courses opened at IICT are two-year Under Graduate diploma Programme on Animation Film Design, Art & Science of Post Production & Visual effects, Interactive     Video Game Design & Development.
Students interested in pursuing these UG diploma courses must be 10 passed and they must face an entrance test as well as a personal interview.
One-year diploma courses opened at the institute include Comics & Sequential Art, Visual Effect Mastery, Art of Character and Creature Animation, 3D Character & Creature Design, Film Technology and Post Production, and 3D Technical Artist (Lightning FX, Grooming and Unreal).
The institute also offers three months and six months certificate courses on Virtual Art Department Content Creation, E-Sports & Gaming Management, Media Tech Workflow, Environment Art for Video Game, ICVFX On-Set Operation, Production Management for AVGC Industry, Art and Cinematic Intelligence of AI Filmmaking, Voice Acting for Animation & Gaming and Art of Character Animation.
IICT has already inked MoUs and partnered with 24 companies including Google, YouTube, Microsoft, Meta, Netflix etc.  As such, students of IICT are ensured placement after graduation or completion of their respective courses.
