PTRC, SHADOW kick off 3rd MNCA U-15 Girls One Day Trophy with emphatic wins

IMPHAL, Mar 29 :  PTRC, Patsoi Part IV and SHADOW, Thangmeiband opened their 3rd MNCA U-15 Girls One Day Trophy league campaign with comprehensive victories today.
At Kongba Dhobi Lampak, SHADOW steamrolled YPHUC by 272 runs to kick off Group B campaign in style.
Viviene Laishram shone with a 108-ball 159 not out and Hanglem Malemnganbi scored a 48-ball 62 to guide SHADOW to a daunting total of 293/2 in the allotted 30 overs before Sagatpam Henthoibi (5/5 in 5 overs) and Kongthoujam Shinthoihenbi (4/9 in 5.4 overs) combined well to devastate YPHUC batting line-up and their eventual collapse at 21 within 11.4 overs.
Viviene smacked 18 fours and 5 sixes on the way to her unbeaten 159 as Hanglem Malemnganbi struck 9 fours to post 62 off 48 balls.
For YPHUC, Sarangthem Ester (1/46) and Thadoi Maibam (1/59) picked a wicket apiece before they had a forgettable chase. Soubam Lingjennganbi who added 3 runs was the highest run getter for YPHUC in reply as 7 other batters departed on ducks.
Elsewhere at THAU ground, PTRC restricted MPA, Thounaojam to 89/7 in the allotted 25 overs and cruised to the winning 91/3 in 9.3 to open their Group A league campaign on a winning note.
Yumnam Echapamu 22 not out off 49 balls and Laishram Bandana 16 off 28 led the scoring for MPA who opted to bat first before PTRC rode on Laitonjam Benita’s 29-ball 40 and 34 extras to seal the victory with ease.
Earlier in the first innings, Laishram Bigyapati (3/6) and Laitonjam Shilky (2/20) shared 5 wickets for PTRC while Yumnam Echapamu (2/22) and Salainganbi Thokchom (1/11) shared three wickets for MPA.
