24th Challenge Cup AFFC top Group D with 5-0 rout of EMVFC

IMPHAL, Mar 30 : AFFC, Imphal finished Group D winners in the 24th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament as they trounced EMVFC, Lamlai by 5-0 goals in the final group league match this evening at natural turf, SAI NERC Imphal, Takyel.
AFFC, who handed Thangmeiband FC a 3-1 defeat in their previous encounter, came out all guns blazing to romp to a 5-0 win today.
It was P Romesh who opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Kh Ranjit (19’), Md Chaoba (22’), Ksh Ratan (52’) and H Noren (60+1’) took their turns to complete the 5-0 demolition of EMVFC.
Earlier in a Group B match, FLAK, Kyamgei edged past FFC, Ningombam 2-1 courtesy of a double from Somananda (16’, 41’).
The lone goal for FFC was scored by Inaocha in the 34th minute.
With the result, FLAK finished Group B runners up as TRVSA finished on top with better goal difference.
