CM attends Mahavir Jayanti with call for peace

IMPHAL, Mar 30 : Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh took part in the Mahavir Jayanti celebrations today.
He attended the 2625th Bhagwan Mahavir Janm Kalyanak Mahotsav at Shree Digambar Jain Mandir, Paona Bazar, Imphal.
After attending the celebration, the Chief Minister, on Facebook, greeted the people and wished for the occasion to bring about unity, peace and prosperity to all communities.
On Facebook, the Chief Minister said, "Tinged with deep sacredness and a spirit of purification, I had the privilege of joining the Bhagwan Mahavir Janm Kalyanak Mahotsav celebrations organised by Shree Digambar Jain Samaj, Imphal at Shri Jain Mandir, Paona Bazaar, commemorating the 2625th Birth Anniversary of Lord Mahavira.
"It was a matter of honour to inaugurate the religious procession, which beautifully reflected the timeless teachings of non-violence, truth, and compassion principles that continue to guide humanity towards peace and harmony.
"On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartfelt prayers and best wishes for the well-being, unity, and prosperity of all communities."
Notably, a Rath Yatra, carrying the idol of Lord Mahavir and a tableaux depicting His life journey and teachings, was carried out as a part of the celebration.
The yatra started from Paona Bazar and proceeded toward Ema Keithel, Thangal Bazar, MG Avenue before concluding at Marwari Dharamshala.
Abishek, Pujan and special prayers were observed for peace in Manipur and across the world.
