Mahila Cong protests LPG price hike

IMPHAL, Mar 8: Members of the Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (MPMCC) held a protest demonstration against a hike in the price of LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas).
MPMCC president Mutum Sarma led the protest at Congress Bhavan Imphal today.
During the demonstration, members of the MPMCC said Modi's Govt has forced women to protest on International Women's Day. The Govt has hiked the price of cooking gas multiple times over the years burdening ordinary citizens, they said. They raised slogans and urged the Govt not to further increase the price of LPG. The price of LPG  has been increased by Rs 60 with effect from March 7.
The cost of a 14.2-kg cooking gas cylinder in Manipur is 1,064.50, a hike of Rs 60 from Rs 1,004.50 in February 2026.
