IMPHAL, Mar 8 : PTRC, Patsoi Part IV extended their winning run to 8 games in the 10th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy 2025-26 as they trounced CRAU, Khamnam Bazar by 98 runs today at Lairenjam Public Ground.
With Khangembam Santosh leading the way with a 49-ball 50, PTRC posted a commanding total of 254 for all wickets down in 39.3 overs before bowlers played their part well to dismantle CRAU for 156 runs in the same 39.3 overs.
Santosh’s knock included 8 boundaries- 7 fours and 1 six as Jotin Pheiroijam followed with a 43 quickfire off 27 balls (6 fours and 1 six) and Ngariyanbam Johnson added 38 off 42 balls.
Bm Sabakhan was the pick of the CRAU bowlers as he claimed 4 wickets alone including the scalp of Santosh. Heisnam Joyhenba (2.24), Khumanthem Prakash (2/54) and Lamabam Jotin (2/54) were also among the wickets for the team.
In reply, CRAU has a dismal start and slumped to 51/6 within 15.3 overs as PTRC skipper RK Rex (2/26) and Tamarland Pheiroijam (2/23), Jotin Pheiroijam (1/13) and Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam (1/7) inflicted early damage.
Santosh then piled further pressure on CRAU by trapping Ph Jodash lbw on 30 (off 41 balls), the team’s highest run getter’ for the 7th wicket before Ngariyanbam swept the tailenders including Heisham Joyhenba 26 and Stoneson 23 and walked away with the best figures of 3/11 in his spell of 3.3 overs.
Ngariyanbam Johnson who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai posted their second win in 9 matches by beating ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound by 3 runs in a final over thriller.
Asked to bat first, SCCC amassed 211/7 courtesy of Ulenyai Khwairakpam’s leading knock of 76 runs off 89 balls and Phijam Lanngamba’s unbeaten 32 off 19 balls and restricted ESU to 208 runs in 40 overs despite Sagolshem Ronal and Hanjabam Donba making half centuries midway.
ESU skipper Sanatomba (3/20) and Lourembam Dipu (2/54) shared 5 wickets early in the first innings before they had a shaky start to the chase.
They slumped to 31/3 with Basant (2/38) disrupting the initial momentum.
Tenyson (31 off 54 balls) and Sagolshem Ronal (63 off 85 balls) gave ESU some respite by gathering 51 runs but Lishan Meitei Khaidem removed Tenyson on 31 for the fourth wicket to break the partnership before getting rid of Hanjabam Donba (55 off 50 balls) who provided an 83-run partnership with Ronal for the fifth wicket.
ESU needed 17 off 17 runs to win when Ronald was pinned lbw on 63 for the 6th wicket by Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum.
ESU needed 7 runs off the final over to win but Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum kept his cool to remove Thangjam Rishi and Leishangthem Bishworjit in the second and the fifth deliveries to reduce ESU to 208/8 before closing out the over with a dot ball.
Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum returned with the best bowling figures of 3/21 in 7 overs followed by Basant and Lishan (2/41).
Ulenyai was named player of the match.
Meanwhile at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, CYCLONE were declared winners against REYS. Asked to bat first CYCLONE were 83/6 in 23.3 overs but the match was discontinued due to “refusal to play further by REYS”.
