One arrested while attempting to steal moped

IMPHAL, Mar 9: Police arrested a person while attempting to steal a two-wheeler Honda Activa at Paona Bazar yesterday.
The vehicle lifter arrested has been identified as Sahill Ahmed (29) of Lilong Khunou.
He was arrested while attempting to steal a Honda Activa vehicle parked at Paona Bazar, said the police.
From his possession, the police recovered a cutter and a screwdriver.
The incident occurred at around 2.40 pm near Hotel Jehova yesterday.
The owner of the Honda Activa saw Sahill Ahmed attempting to steal the vehicle, and alerted passersby and police personnel on patrol duty. Sahill Ahmed was overpowered and nabbed after a brief chase.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West has remanded the 29-year-old vehicle lifter to police custody till March 11.
