Self-immolation bid thwarted

IMPHAL, Apr 9: A self-immolation attempt by a man deeply hurt by the killing of two sleeping kids in a bomb attack carried out by Kuki terrorists and the killing of three civilians by CRPF in the subsequent protest was thwarted by police today.
Incensed and aggrieved by the Govt’s lack of decisive action to the terror attack, Sinam Apollo (32) s/o Sinam Dolen of Mayanglangjing Ngariyanbam Kwaksiphai came to the Lok Bhavan gate on a two-wheeler (Honda Activa) and tried to immolate himself. As he started pouring kerosene over himself, police intervened and snatched away the can as well as the matchbox. He was then taken to the City police station.
