IMPHAL, Apr 9 : Pointing out that women and children were spared during the  Pahalgam terror in Jammu & Kashmir, Taragi Cheishu chairman Khaidem Mani has decried that those people who killed a five-year-old boy and a five-month-old baby while they were asleep at Tronglaobi are worse than terrorists.
Speaking to media persons today at his Loklaobung residence, Senior Advocate Khaidem Mani who is also the chairman of  Citizens for Justice questioned the silence of the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister to the chilling terror attack.
He also pointed out that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Union Home Minister Amit Shah made any statement of condolence or condemnation when innocent women and children were killed in cold blood at Jiribam.
Both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are leaders who have no compassion. It appears that they don’t see Manipur as a State of India, Khaidem Mani said.
It looks like they (Modi & Amit Shah) do not take Manipuris as Indian citizens, he added.
Categorically saying that handing over a case to the NIA is not the solution, the Senior Advocate questioned how many of the cases handed over to the NIA have been solved so far.
The State Government under Chief Minister Y Khemchand ought to carry out widespread military operations. It is the State Government’s responsibility to tackle law and order problems in the State. It is the duty of the State Government to enforce rule of law and protect life and property of citizens, he pointed out.
Saying that the Government of India must eradicate all acts of terrorism comprehensively, Khaidem Mani asserted that even surgical strikes can be carried out to neutralise the perpetrators of the Tronglaobi terror attack as done in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
Chief Minister Y Khemchand needs to act boldly in order to resolve the protracted crisis. He need not act at the behest or diktats of the Centre or Amit Shah, the Taragi Cheishu chairman asserted.
Vehemently condemning the brutal killing of the two sleeping kids at Tronglaobi and the death of three protesters in firing by CRPF jawans, he asserted that a judicial enquiry must be instituted to investigate the killing of civilians by CRPF jawans.
He said that the CRPF jawans could have used tear gas shells, mock bombs or opened fire in the air, if they must, to disperse the protesters, instead of opening fire directly at the aggrieved protesters.
If justice cannot be delivered to the Tronglaobi terror attack, it would be prudent for the Ministers and ruling MLAs to step down from their respective posts, he added.
Asserting that the people too need to carry on with different forms of democratic agitation, Advocate Khaidem Mani said that the High Court Bar Association and the All Manipur Bar Association have been working to initiate steps so as to deliver justice to the Tronglaobi terror attack.
