Manipur Armwrestling Association names State team for 4th National Armwrestling C’ship

IMPHAL, Apr 9 : The Manipur Armwrestling Association has announced the names of athletes shortlisted in the State team for 4th National Armwrestling Championship due to be held from May 29 to June 2 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The athletes, who were selected in the State team based on their performances at the recently concluded 40th State Armwrestling Championship 2026, are as follows.
Sub-Junior Men : Yumnam Chingkhei (50 kg), Y Yaiphaba (50 kg), Laikhuram Davidson (50 kg), RK Rishi (50 kg), S Punshiba (55 kg), Darwin Kongkham (55 kg), Hemam Roger (55 kg), Phijam Paikhomba (60 kg), Lourembam Santosh (60 kg), Yaikhom Thoungamba (60 kg), Genius Kangabam (65 kg), Ngangom Balkrishna (65 kg), Yaithengbam Rajkumar (70 kg), Salam Thoi Meitei (70 kg), Lanchenba M (70 kg) and Paonam Yohenba (70+ kg).
Junior Men : Thokchom Aditya (55 kg), Heisnam Maniraj (55 kg), N Oroi (55 kg), Chonjonbam Bikash (60 kg), Aheibam Bipin (60 kg), Gunal Oinam (60 kg), Gurumayum Rohit Sharma (65 kg), Srinivas Thokchom (65 kg), Nicolas Thounaojam (70 kg), Amom Lankhomba (70 kg), Kh Rajpratap (75 kg), Yumnam Prithibiraj (75 kg), H Abungo (80 kg), Laishram Hemraj (80+ kg) and Thoudam Happyson (80+ kg).
Youth Men : Khuraijam Thomas (55 kg), Hmangte Chungweimong Kom (60 kg), RK Ajhaljit (70 kg) and Waikhom Sheityam (70 kg).
Senior Men : Chonjonbam Bikash (60 kg), Gunal Oinam (60 kg), Lourembam Chitreshwar (70 kg), RK Ajhaljit (70 kg), Ngangom Balkrishna (70 kg), Nicolas Thounaojam (70 kg), Hidangmayum Ganyson (75 kg), Laishram Deep (100 kg) and Laishram Hemraj (90 kg).
Masters Men: Chanambam Iboyaima (60 kg), Th Bidyabushan (60 kg), M Tomal (70 kg), L Poulinlong (70 kg), L Chitreshwar (70 kg), M Amuba (80 kg), W Opendrajit (80 kg) and Th Okendro (90 kg).
Grandmasters Men : Kumam Shyamkeshor (70 kg), M Jiban (90 kg) and Kh Sanjitkumar (110 kg).
Sub-Junior Women : M Lanchenbi (50 kg).
Senior Women : Soram Valentina (65 kg), L Inaobi (70 kg), Soram Rani (70 kg) and M Memcha (80 kg).
Masters Women: L Inaobi (70 kg), S Rani (70 kg) and Sh Shanti (80+ kg).
Grandmasters Women : M Memcha.
The association further instructed the athletes to report for a coaching camp at Khuman Lampak Armwrestling Gym from April 15 to May 15. Those who fail to attend the camp without valid reason will be automatically removed from the State team, it said. The team will leave Imphal on May 26.
