In today's digital age, earphones have become an integral part of our daily life. Whether listening to music, taking online classes or interacting on the phone — Earphone use is increasing everywhere.
Although it is an easy way of convenience and entertainment, excessive use also carries many health risks that cannot be ignored.
The biggest threat is the effect on hearing ability. Using earphones in loud voice for a long time can damage the delicate cells inside the ear. This gradually starts to reduce hearing and in severe cases can also cause permanent deafness.
According to experts, it is considered safe to follow the 60-60 rule (maximum 60 minutes at 60% volume).
Overuse of earphones also increases the risk of ear infections.
When we keep earphones for a long time, moisture and heat inside the ear increases, which creates an environment favorable for bacteria to flourish. In addition, using the same earphone repeatedly without cleaning increases the risk of infection.
Along with this, continuous use of earphones can also affect mental and physical health. Listening to music in a loud voice can cause headaches, irritability and difficulty focusing. Keeping earphones for a long time can also cause pain around the neck and ears.
Another serious problem is the social isolation. When people are constantly wearing earphones, they cut off from their surroundings.
Not only does it affect social relationships, but when walking on the road or driving a car, it can also cause accidents because the person cannot hear external sounds.
Its effect is especially seen in children and youth. The growing tools of online education and entertainment have led them to use earphones more, which has caused hearing problems at an early age.
It is necessary to take some precautions to avoid these risks. Such as limiting the use of earphones, keep the sound moderate, regularly clean the earphone, and give rest to the ears from time to time.
In addition, it is also important to use better quality earphones and consult a doctor if necessary.
Finally, it would be fair to say that the use of earphones is for convenience, but its excessive and careless use can be harmful to our health.
Therefore, balanced and safe use is the right choice.
